Key – means ‘Key features only’. It is a cost effective thermal imager but is still ahead of any competition in terms of quality and packed with many essential features that could arguably be all you need!

Features

The Axion is a compact model which sits in the hand comfortably and can be stowed away in an average size pocket. It is built into an ergonomic but also very robust and lightweight magnesium alloy housing weighing approx. 250g  which makes it ideal for travelling light whilst having the ability to spot. Not only will it stand some punishment but it is also IPX7 Waterproof Rated submersable up to 3 feet of water for up to 30 mins so it will still operate flawlessly no matter what the weather.

The long detection range with it’s powerful objective lens in combination with a 12 µm professional grade thermal imaging sensor provides exceptional detection capabilities. A standard 1,8 m (6 ft) tall object can be detected at a 950 m (1038 yds) distance in complete darkness. The thermal imaging sensor with 12 µm pixel pitch helps to achieve higher optic magnification and observation distance and simultaneously helps to make the unit more compact.

The Picture in Picture function displays second small image with magnification in the top part of the screen. Small image helps to zoom in on a target while retaining the rest of the field of view visible.

The 8-color palette enhances viewing in varying conditions. While the classic “White Hot” is a common favourite, “Hot Black” can also work well detecting wildlife at night. Red monochrome will reduce the amount of light pollution from the rear of the eyepiece. Sepia often improves long-range observation while “Red Hot”, “Rainbow” and “Ultramarine” enhance temperature differences of various object attributes. Violet helps to identify objects faster.

B-Pack Mini Power System used in Axion Key models provide sufficient operation time and can be quickly replaced. B-Pack mini batteries can be quickly charged either with a charger station or in the unit connected to USB.

The Axion has a quick start-up bring the picture up almost instantly which helps to save energy and extending the time of operation. The unit can be kept in a pocket and then rapidly activated when needed.

The ‘Key’ models do not include extras such as Wifi connectivity, picture and video capture and the market leading Stream Vision App.  They are supplied with a cable for recharging as opposed to being supplied with a charging station which is an optional extra. For these features please look at the Axion XM30S and XQ

Warranty: The Axion Key XM22 comes with three years warranty, the rechargeable battery comes with one year.
