As a BASC Assessor I am able to offer direct assessment for DSC2 in West Dorset or travel to your location which means you will be with me as your portfolio assessor throughout the process as opposed to finding an approved witness to attend and witness your assessment on behalf of a remote Assessor.  Aside from the accredited standard of guidance and instruction and the in depth knowledge of the assessment system this approach also has the benefit of expiditing the process for the candidate.

The candidate must register with the British Association for Shooting & Conservation requesting ‘Ben Lightowler’ by name as the portfolio assessor on the email at the time of registering.

As DSC2 is a skills assessment, sufficient experience is required. More information on the criteria of assessment on the DSC2 Page.

How the package works,

Candidates applying for DSC2 Assessment are responsible for reading and understanding the DSC2 candidate brief supplied on registration with the assessment center and only booking with sufficient experience. We offer 4 DSC2 stalks at £700 plus any additional costs as specified by the Deer Stalking Information and Trophy Pricing PDFs supplied on application. Provided the candidate has sufficient experience, this gives 4 stalks with an aim to achieve one practice run through and one assessed stalk. If the candidate does not have sufficient experience to meet the performance criteria the stalks will be used as a training opportunity and a debrief given prior to departure. Completion of the aims of the package are not within the control of the guide/assessor. If you do not complete the assessment criteria in the 4 outings you can choose to continue with us at our standard price per stalk or find an Approved Witness.
