These terms and conditions were last updated on 23/11/2025.
Use of our web site and the sale and purchase of goods from the web site are governed by our terms and conditions as set out below. ‘We’ or ‘Our’ means Light Alder Ltd T/A Deer Central. ‘You’ or ‘your’ means the person accessing, using or ordering from our web site over the Internet.
Full payment, including carriage cost, must be received and cleared through our bank prior to dispatch of goods.
All orders marked ‘in stock’ will be despatched within 5 working days of placing your order.
All goods will be charged at the prices prevailing at the time of despatch.
Light Alder Ltd T/A Deer Central reserves the right to impart to the purchaser any unexpected increases in production and carriage costs. In the event of loss or damage to goods during transit, Light Alder Ltd T/A Deer Central must receive written notification from the purchaser. The unused, damaged goods will be replaced.
Disclaimer: Goods supplied by Light Alder Ltd T/A Deer Central are guaranteed for the purpose for which they are designed. The Company cannot accept responsibility for damage to goods if used for any other purpose; neither will The Company accept responsibility for injury to any person or user due to poor supervision or mismanagement of equipment.

1. Prices, description and availability of goods
Prices are subject to change without notice and all goods are sold subject to availability. Where goods are temporarily out of stock we will contact you so that you may choose between a refund on the item, having it shipped when it is back in stock or selecting an alternative product. Whilst we take the utmost care to ensure the product descriptions, pictures, information and prices are accurate we do not accept liability for any inaccuracies, errors or omissions. Colours may vary slightly from those shown on the web site due to the limitations of Internet technology.
Orders are accepted at our sole discretion and we maintain the right to decline orders without giving an explanation.
Restricted Goods
Bladed Products (Age-Restricted)
We cannot sell bladed items to anyone under the age of 18. Under the Criminal Justice Act 1988 and the Offensive Weapons Act 2019, we are required to take robust steps to prevent the sale of bladed articles to under 18s.
Where you purchase a bladed product, we require proof of age to be provided and we will ship using an age verified delivery service. The name on the identification provided must match the purchaser and the named addressee on the shipping address.
If ID is not uploaded at checkout, we will contact you by email. If appropriate ID is not supplied, we will cancel and refund your order. This requirement applies equally to items purchased as gifts. We may ship to an alternative address on request, however the named recipient at that address must match the verified ID and be available to receive the parcel via an age-verified service.
Accepted ID includes:
- a valid passport
- photocard driving licence (UK, EU or other country)
- a proof of age card such as the PASS card from the national Proof of Age Standards Scheme
- FAC or SGC
Firearms and Ammunition
No firearms or ammunition will be sold online or remotely, with the exception of lawful RFD to RFD transfers. Face to face transactions only, and only where the customer holds valid legal authority to acquire the item(s).
Deer Central operates strictly in accordance with the Firearms Act 1968 (as amended) and associated legislation. Nothing in these terms constitutes an offer to sell a firearm until legal authority to acquire has been verified.
We may request proof of identity and a copy/photograph of your FAC/SGC in advance of any visit or appointment in order to confirm eligibility and avoid unnecessary travel. The original certificate must be presented at the time of any transfer.
2. Payment methods
You may order online using a credit / debit card (We accept Visa / Mastercard / Switch) or Paypal. All prices are in pounds sterling (£) and credit / debit card transactions for orders outside the UK will be converted by the card company at their current exchange rates. All our transactions are processed by our payment partner PayPal.
Payment by invoice can be requested. Payment terms as detailed on invoice.
We do not accept payment by Cheque
3. Shipping & Carriage
Carriage UK Mainland & Northern Ireland Only
- Orders up to £59.99: £7.99 inc VAT per order.
- Orders £60.00 to £149.99: £5 inc VAT per order.
- Orders over £150: Free of charge
Orders will be dispatched within 5 working days of placing order.
We will only ship by a tracked and signed for service. Bladed products are required, by law to be shipped by an age verification service.
Any request submitted via the order instruction box to leave your shipment without a signature or any place other than the main shipping address will not be passed to the courier unless agreed to by email at [email protected] and must be in accordance with the law.
We require customers to make themselves available to recieve deliveries of signed for and/or age verified shipments.
Shipment updates will be sent by our automated email system. Where a delivery is attempted and no one is avaiable to recieve a signed for and/or age verified shipment the customer will be notified either by the carrier and/or via our automated email. A second delivery will be attempted before the shipment is held for customer collection for a period that varies between carriers prior to being returned to us. The customer is responsible for making arrangements with the courier to retrieve any held shipments.
Where every attempt has been reasonably made to deliver the shipment Light Alder Ltd T/A Deer Central is not liable to bear any cost of redelivery or refund a shipping cost but may do so at our discretion.
4. Cooling off period, cancellation and returns
We want you to be satisfied every time you shop with us. Our “no quibbles” guarantee means that if for any reason you are unhappy with the goods purchased you may cancel your order and return the goods within 14 working days from receipt of the goods, you must notify us within 14 days of receipt. You must then return the item within 14 days. You will receive a refund within 14 days of us recieving the returned item.
Eligibility for Returns
To qualify for a return or exchange:
- The item must be in its original condition, unused, and undamaged.
- The item must include all original packaging, tags, and accessories.
- Proof of purchase (e.g. receipt or order confirmation) must be provided.
- We reserve the right to inspect all returned items before approving a refund or exchange.
Items Not Eligible for Return
We cannot accept returns for:
- Items that show signs of use, wear, damage, misuse, or neglect.
- Items that have been altered, washed, assembled, or installed (where relevant and in accordance with the Act).
- Products damaged due to improper handling, storage, or care.
- Clearance, final-sale, or perishable items (where applicable).
- Sealed audio / video recordings or computer software which have been opened.
- Goods made to the customer’s personal specifications.
If an item is returned to us in a condition that does not meet these requirements, it will be refused and returned to the customer at their expense.
Faulty Goods
We take care to ensure that all our products meet high quality standards. However, if you believe an item you have purchased is faulty, please contact us as soon as possible so that we can resolve the issue.
Our goods are supplied in accordance with the Consumer Rights Act 2015. This means that goods must be:
- of satisfactory quality,
- fit for their intended purpose, and
- as described.
Faults Within 30 Days
If a fault is confirmed within 30 days of purchase (or delivery), you are entitled to request a full refund. The item must be returned to us for inspection before a refund can be processed.
Faults After 30 Days and Within 6 Months
If a fault develops after 30 days but within 6 months, you are entitled to a repair or replacement in the first instance. If repair or replacement is not possible or fails to resolve the issue, you may be entitled to a refund or price reduction. We may require reasonable proof of purchase and evidence of the fault.
Faults After 6 Months
If a fault occurs after 6 months, the burden of proof lies with the customer to demonstrate that the fault was present at the time of delivery. We may request independent assessment or inspection of the product before determining a resolution.
Faulty Goods – Exclusions
This policy does not cover:
- Faults or damage caused by misuse, neglect, accident, normal wear and tear, or failure to follow care or operating instructions.
- Items that have been altered, repaired, or modified by anyone other than the manufacturer or an authorised service provider.
Before returning any item, please contact our customer service team to obtain authorisation and return instructions. We reserve the right to inspect and test returned items before a remedy is provided. If no fault is found, the item will be returned to you, and no refund or replacement will be issued. Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
Special order items
Where an item has been special ordered from a supplier on the direction of a customer a refund will be deducted any cost of supply and return to our supplier.
Seconds
Seconds are not covered under our standard returns policy. They will have minor defects and are sold on an ‘as is’ basis. They will be useable for the purpose they were designed and any additional defect that affects the function of the product will be covered under a limited warranty of six months.
Returns Details
We will provide returns information in with the delivery note/invoice. We reserve the right to inspect and test returned items before a remedy is provided.
Where you wish to return goods and do not have returns information, you can contact customer services for the returns address shown above. Whichever way, it is vital that you enclose a covering letter with the return detailing your name, full address, order number and reason for return (please also specify why you are returning the item and where applicable, whether you require an exchange or refund).
We recommend that you use Recorded Delivery, as proof of shipping is not proof of receipt. Unless the goods arrive defective, damaged or not as specified on your order acknowledgement, you are responsible for the cost of returning goods to us. If however the goods are faulty then the postage costs will be refunded.

5. Training Events, Courses and Assessments booked by the day
When you enter a contract with us for a service we provide we ask you to accept our terms and conditions which offer a clear cancellation policy and enables us to cover our losses if you cancel the contract.
Light Alder Ltd T/A Deer Central reserves the right to alter or cancel published dates and change venues without liability. In the event of a postponement or venue change we will transfer you to the next available event or offer an alternative. In the event we cancel and an alternative cannot be provided by us, monies received in respect of that course less the cost of course study material will be refunded in full.
In the event of a candidate cancelling up to 60 days before the start of the course, monies received in respect of that course, less the cost of the course study material, will be refunded in full. Cancellations between 30-59 days prior to the start of the course will forfeit 50% of the fee and less than 30 days no refund will be given. In the case of your nonattendance (excepting unusual circumstances) no refund will be given. All course transfers up to 30 days prior to the course will incur a £25.00 admin charge. Transfers within 30 days will be charged incrementally up to 75% of the course fee at the organisers discretion.
6. Coaching sessions and Assessments booked by the hour
When you enter a contract with us for a service we provide we ask you to accept our terms and conditions which offer a clear cancellation policy and enables us to cover our losses if you cancel the contract.
Light Alder Ltd T/A Deer Central reserves the right to alter or cancel published dates and change venues without liability. In the event we cancel and an alternative cannot be provided, monies received in respect of that session less the cost of any study material will be refunded in full. In the event of a candidate cancelling up to 15 days before the start of the session, monies received in respect of that course/session will be refunded in full. Cancellations between 2-14 days prior to the start of the course will forfeit 50% of the fee and less than 48hrs no refund will be given. In the case of your nonattendance (excepting unusual circumstances) no refund will be given.

8. Trademarks and copyright
All third party copyright, trademarks, brand names, product names and titles on this web site are acknowledged. This web site is protected by Copyright and the Copyright, Trademarks, logos and Intellectual Property rights for the content of the web site are the property of Light Alder Ltd. ALL RIGHTS RESERVED.
Any use, printing or copying of materials on this web site, other than in the course of browsing, selecting products and ordering from us, is strictly prohibited. Any framing of this web site is prohibited.
9. Security
Security is one of our highest priorities and we take every precaution to protect your personal information both online and off line. Information requested when registering or ordering goods (including your credit / debit card details) is encrypted with SSL (Secure Socket Layer), the industry standard encryption software.
10. Notification of Changes
If we change our Terms and conditions, Privacy policy or Security policy, we will post notification of these changes on our Home page so you are aware of them. Should we decide to use personally identifiable information in a manner different from that stated at the time it was collected, we would notify you by e-mail and request your agreement to the changes. We will use information in accordance with the privacy policy under which the information was collected.
11. Legals
The contract will be governed by the laws of England and Wales and you agree to submit to the jurisdiction of the English courts. These terms and conditions do not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.
12. Deer Central Alumni Support Scheme
Candidates from Jan 2025 having completed the Deer Stalking Certificate 1 or 2 with Deer Central will be eligible for 12 months access to the exclusive Alumni discount scheme from the date of thier assessment day. Access to the scheme is for the provision of kit and equipment for the candidate only.
We reserve the right to amend or remove discounts on any product without notice. Multiple product purchases including large or heavy items such as hardox targets or machinery may incur additional shipping costs as these items may have to be shipped seperately and we reserve the right to pass the cost on to the custmer. We reserve the right to withdraw the scheme from all or any candidate at any time without explanation.
13. Gift Cards
13.1 Validity Period
- Gift Cards redeemed against eligible retail products are valid for 24 months from the date of purchase.
- Gift Cards redeemed against courses, events or experience bookings are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase.
- Gift Cards expire automatically at the end of the relevant validity period, and any unused balance will be forfeited. Expired Gift Cards cannot be extended, transferred or reissued.
13.2 Redemption
- Gift Cards are redeemable only by customers located within the United Kingdom and may only be used on qualifying purchases made through our UK retail channels or booking systems.
- Gift Cards may be used as full or part payment for eligible goods or services.
- Gift Cards cannot be redeemed for cash, used to purchase other gift cards, or applied to excluded categories (see Section 13.3).
- Where the purchase value exceeds the Gift Card balance, the remaining amount must be paid using an accepted payment method.
13.3 Excluded Categories
Gift Cards cannot be used for the following retail product categories:
We reserve the right to amend the list of excluded categories from time to time. Any changes will not affect the use of Gift Cards already redeemed for eligible purchases.
13.4 Courses, Events & Experiences
- Redemption of Gift Cards for courses, events or experience bookings is limited to activities offered within the UK and is subject to availability and applicable booking terms.
- Bookings must be made before the Gift Card expires.
- If you cancel a booking made using a Gift Card, refunds (if applicable) will be issued as Gift Card credit and will not extend the original validity period.
13.5 Balance Management
- Any remaining balance on a partially redeemed Gift Card will remain available until the expiry date.
- You may check your Gift Card balance via https://deercentral.co.uk/gift-cards/.
13.6 Lost or Stolen Gift Cards
- Gift Cards should be treated as cash. We cannot accept responsibility for lost, stolen, damaged or unauthorised use of Gift Cards.
- Where proof of purchase and remaining balance can be confirmed, replacement may be offered at our discretion only.
13.7 Refunds
- Refunds for goods or services originally purchased with a Gift Card will be issued as a Gift Card credit.
- Gift Cards are non-refundable except where required by UK consumer law.
13.8 Fraud & Misuse
- We may refuse to accept or may cancel any Gift Card where we reasonably suspect fraud, misuse or unauthorised activity.
- Gift Cards must not be resold, transferred for value, or used for marketing or promotional purposes without our prior written consent.
13.9 Statutory Rights
Nothing in this section affects your statutory rights under UK consumer law.
