Description
A versatile twin-reed call for producing a broad range of roe deer sounds.
The Buttolo Universal Mouth Roe Deer Call is designed for stalkers who want greater control and tonal variation than is available from a simple hand-operated bellows call.
Its hollow, semi-circular body is fitted with two separate reeds. The shorter reed is used for higher-pitched kid contact and distress sounds, while the longer reed produces the calls of adult does, including contact, alarm and more urgent rutting sounds.
By bringing both reeds together in one compact instrument, the Universal Mouth Call allows the experienced user to reproduce most of the important roe deer vocalisations without carrying several individual calls.
It requires more practice than the rubber Buttolo Blatter but rewards the user with a wider range of sounds and greater control over tone, volume and phrasing.

Using the Call
Select the appropriate reed for the sound you wish to produce and blow gently across it. The reeds are sensitive and require controlled airflow rather than force.
Changes in breath pressure, mouth position and hand placement can alter the volume and tone. Practise before using the call in the field so that each sound can be produced consistently.

Source verification: Product information identifies the two-reed construction and assigns the shorter reed to kid sounds and the longer reed to adult doe, alarm and rut-related calls.
