Description

The true name of this call is the Weisskirchen Eifel deer call.

Before Wesskirchen took over the manufacture of the call, the original creators were called Eifel but manufacture stopped in the mid 1960’s after the owner passed away. In order to create a natural sound, hard cardboard was mixed with synthetic resin and he created a call on which others have been based.

After a 50 year gap Weisskirchen began to pruduce the Eifel call again and has maintained the same materials for manufacture for the authentic sound.

How to use the Eifel deer call correctly

The Eifel deer call is made up of two parts. If you call out a long drawn-out “aua”, i.e. “aauuuaahh” through the extended call and slowly push it together, you will hear a deceptively real search call. If you shout at a deer, you call out a sharp and short “auu” into the pushed-together call and quickly pull it apart. It is difficult to explain this action exactly in writing but study of rutting reds and imitation of them is the best education.
