Description
The Pulsar Krypton 2 range is designed for shooters who want the advantages of thermal imaging without replacing their existing day optic. Fitted to the front of a compatible riflescope, the Krypton 2 turns a familiar daytime setup into a thermal-capable rifle system.
For deer management, fox control and professional field use, this has obvious advantages. You retain the rifle, scope, stock weld, trigger familiarity and general handling you already know, while adding Pulsar’s thermal detection capability when conditions demand it.
The Krypton 2 is available here in two variants: the FXQ35 and the FXG50.
The FXQ35 is the more compact and cost-effective option. It uses a 384×288 thermal sensor with a 35mm f1.0 objective lens and offers detection out to around 1300m. It is a very capable choice for woodland, mixed ground and typical UK stalking distances, where field of view, compactness and value matter.
The FXG50 is the higher-performance option. It uses a 640×480 thermal sensor, 12µm pixel pitch and a 50mm f1.0 objective lens, giving greater image detail and detection capability out to around 2300m. For more open ground, longer observation distances or users who want the sharper image of a 640 sensor, the FXG50 is the model to choose.
Both models are built around the same concept: a practical thermal upgrade for your existing day scope, without the need to dedicate a rifle solely to a thermal riflescope.
Which Model Should I Choose?
Pulsar Krypton 2 FXQ35
Choose the FXQ35 if you want a capable, practical and more affordable thermal front attachment for typical UK deer stalking, foxing and general land management use.
It is especially well suited to:
Woodland stalking
Mixed farmland
Short to medium range work
Users wanting a lighter, more compact option
Those who want Pulsar Krypton performance at the lower price point
The FXQ35 gives an excellent balance of thermal sensitivity, useful field of view and real-world performance.
Pulsar Krypton 2 FXG50
Choose the FXG50 if image detail and longer-range detection are the priority.
It is especially well suited to:
Open ground
Hill, moorland or large field systems
Longer observation distances
Professional or regular night shooting use
Users who want the benefit of a 640 thermal sensor
The FXG50 is the higher-specification Krypton 2 model and gives the stronger image and longer detection range.

Deer Central View
The Krypton 2 makes a lot of sense if you already have a good day scope and want to add thermal capability without changing the rifle setup completely.
For most woodland and mixed stalking, the FXQ35 will be the sensible choice. It keeps the cost down and gives a practical field of view for real stalking distances.
The FXG50 is the one to choose if you want the stronger image, better identification detail and longer-range detection. It is the more expensive unit, but for regular users or open-ground work, the 640 sensor is a significant upgrade.
As always with front attachments, correct fitment matters. The unit needs to be matched properly to your day scope using the correct adapter system. Please contact us if you would like advice before ordering.
Important Compatibility Note
The Krypton 2 is a front attachment and will require the correct adapter for your day scope. Suitability depends on your scope’s objective size, design and intended use.
Please contact us before ordering if you are unsure which adapter you need or whether the Krypton 2 is suitable for your current setup.
